Ultima Online, the way it should feel.

A free Renaissance-era ServUO shard where the economy is built by players, not vendors — and getting in takes one download, not an afternoon of setup.

One file. Client, plugins, and the game itself — already inside. No separate installs.

Three steps. That's it.

1

Download the launcher

One small program. It handles everything else.

2

Hit Play

It pulls down the game client automatically — pre-configured, already connected to UO RL. Nothing to type in, nothing to look up.

3

Create your account and go

Pick a name and password at the login screen — that's your account, created on the spot. You're in Britannia.

Already play another shard? No conflict — UO RL installs into its own folder and won't touch anything else on your machine.

What makes this world different

An economy players actually run

Vendors don't spawn goods out of thin air. Every item on every shelf was mined, crafted, or hauled there by a real player through a faction supply chain. Break the chain, and the shelf stays empty.

Factions fight for real stakes

Control a town's sigil and you set its taxes, its vendor licenses, who can dock there. Lose it, and someone else does. Politics and PvP aren't side content here — they're how the map actually changes hands.

Every good weapon was made by someone

No magic weapons dropping off monsters. Power comes from a blacksmith's forge — through enchanted gems or matched runic ore — which means the best gear in the game has a maker's name attached to it.

The road is not safe

No recalling into a town — you walk in from the outside, every time. That stretch of road between cities is where escorts get hired, bandits get rich, and reputations get made.

Support the shard

UO RL is free to play and always will be. If you'd like to help cover server costs, a tip is appreciated — and if you leave a note, I read every one.
